atingi: The GIZ Standard Solution for Digital Learning
atingi is a multilingual, GDPR-compliant, and state-of-the-art Learning Management System (LMS) that offers an effective, scalable, and sustainable way to implement digital learning. Originally commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 2019, atingi has evolved into the standard solution (SPM) for digital learning within GIZ as of 2026. Designed specifically for international development cooperation, the platform is continuously updated to meet the diverse needs of GIZ projects worldwide.
atingi is primarily available for GIZ projects. For external organizations, there are two ways to use the platform:
- Within the framework of a cooperation with a GIZ project.
- Under certain circumstances, through GIZ International Services (InS), GIZ’s economically taxable division that offers the full range of GIZ services to third-party clients beyond official German development cooperation. For more information on these options, please reach out to help@atingi.org.
atingi applies a causation-based pricing model that ensures fair cost allocation while enabling high-quality digital capacity development. This service model combines a platform subscription with one of four available service packages, tailored to project needs of varying scope.
For learners, atingi is entirely free of charge. The platform targets learners aged 16+ residing in Latin America, MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe.
Partners who choose atingi benefit from a vast digital ecosystem consisting of the technical platform, our extensive content library, and various services that support you in implementing high-quality e-learning. You can design your own courses using diverse learning formats to suit your learners' needs, or gain access to hundreds of existing courses. At atingi, we believe in Open Source and actively encourage our partners to re-use existing material from our library that has been published under a Creative commons license.
