Every activity has distinct settings, which is why there is no “default” that is always applicable. In general, you always need to give it a name and ideally a short description.
In some cases, you then need to upload files (e.g., for H5P and SCORM but also for a folder) and/or set a passing grade (e.g., for all content types that contain an assessment).
You can also set an access restriction if you only want your learners to be able to access the content if they have fulfilled certain conditions previously.
Activity completion settings must be configured for any activity or resource.
The condition under which an activity will be seen as completed varies depending on the content type: if you have defined a grade, you should require the learner to complete the activity with a (passing) grade. If you have only uploaded a document, you should require the learner to “view” the activity.
The other options in the activity settings are usually not relevant. Click “Save and display” to save the activity and go back to your course.
