When you promote a course, you may want to tell users about an important date. Reengagement helps you plan these reminders early. You can set the reminder now, and it will send the message at the right time. You don’t have to remember to send it later.
Here are examples:
You are organising a one-month (from 01.02 to 27.02) campaign around one of your courses that allow users to win prices and want to encourage users that have not complete the course yet to do so.
Your blended training is taking place from 01.10 to 31.12. You have an onsite session taking place on 01.11 and you want to remind on 30.10 of the upcoming session.
Like any other activity, re-engagement can be added to a course by turning the editing mode on and clicking on the “+” sign in the according section to add a new activity to the course.
Re-engagement details
Under “General”, set “Reminder to complete the course”.
Under “Re-engagement details”:
set “notify User” = “After delay”. That will notify users a set time after they have started your course.
Leave “Third-party recipient” empty
Notification delay = the delay after course enrolment when you want the reminder to be sent to the participants, e.g. if you want the reminder to be sent almost immediately after users are enrolled, please set it up to at least 10 min up to 2 hours.
Reminder count = 1 (learners receive one reminder after the time is up).
Notification subject = the subject of the email that learners will receive
Notification content is the email text. We recommend using the example provided below.
Use placeholders:
%coursefullname% will automatically make the name of the course appear
https://online.atingi.org/course/view.php?id=%courseid% will automatically add the link to the course.
Notification Content (user):
Thank you for enrolling in the course %coursefullname% on atingi! (Explain your campaign or remind them of the online session)

Please note that the actual email send-out time will be on the later of the “date from” defined in "Restrict Access" and the user's individual enrolment time, plus the configured after-delay period defined in "Notification delay". Please allow a buffer of 1h for the system to synch.
The re-engagement activity is always invisible to learners on course page and will be automatically marked as completed once the configured "duration" time has passed/ once they have received their reminder.
Now you can click save and display and move on to the feedback activity.
After you have set up and saved the re-engagement activity once, no changes to the notification delay can be made. Please keep this in mind.
