Data Deletion at atingi

To ensure GDPR compliance, personal data is collected and stored only for purposes necessary to provide atingi’s services. Once these purposes no longer apply, users’ personal data will be deleted. This data deletion process has several effects, which may be visible on the atingi platform.

The most common case for the expiration of such purposes is user inactivity. At atingi, inactive user accounts are anonymized after two years of inactivity. This has certain implications for the platform and its course administrators: to maintain consistency in Moodle reporting, anonymized accounts will still appear in course participant lists; however, the user’s name will be replaced with “anonymised.” In addition, user contributions to collaborative space, such as forums, will be deleted, as these may contain personal data. Prior to anonymization or deletion, users will receive multiple notifications prompting them to log in and take action if they wish to retain their accounts.

Your accounts are not necessarily affected by these processes. Non-learner accounts (i.e., accounts with any administrative role in a course or category, such as course or category managers) are only anonymized after six years of inactivity.

Users also have the option to delete their accounts themselves. In such cases, all associated data is permanently removed, and they will no longer appear in participant lists or course reports.
As an exception, BigBlueButton recordings are deleted after 12 months on the atingi platform, regardless of the user’s status. Users who have downloaded recordings to their own devices are responsible for deleting any personal data contained therein in a timely manner, once the original purpose no longer applies.
